Refund & Cancellation Policy
This Refund & Cancellation Policy explains how billing, cancellations, and refunds work for Tentacal (https://tentacal.io), operated by Jarred Beaton from South Africa. It supplements our Terms & Conditions. By subscribing or purchasing credits, you agree to this policy.
1. What we sell
- Subscriptions — recurring access to paid tiers of the Tentacal crew-management platform (currently Solo and Studio plans).
- AI credit packs — one-time top-ups that add permanent AI token balance on top of your included allowance.
Current prices are displayed in-app at Settings → Billing and on the Tentacal marketing site. Prices are quoted in USD; PayFast settles charges in ZAR at the conversion rate configured for our account.
2. How billing works
- Subscriptions are billed recurrently (monthly or yearly, as selected) through PayFast until you cancel.
- Free non-comp accounts may receive a trial period. The trial starts on first authenticated use and ends after the duration shown in-app; paid features are gated until you subscribe.
- Upgrading to a higher tier takes effect immediately and is charged through PayFast.
- AI credit packs are one-time purchases processed through PayFast. Tokens are credited to your account once payment is confirmed.
3. How to cancel a subscription
You may cancel your subscription at any time from Settings → Billing in the Tentacal app:
- Sign in to your account.
- Open Settings and select the Billing tab.
- Click Cancel subscription at period end and confirm.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period you have already paid for. You retain access to paid features until that date. After the period ends, your account reverts to the Free tier unless you subscribe again.
If you scheduled a downgrade, it is implemented as a cancellation at the end of the current period; you must re-subscribe to the lower tier after that date. We cannot change the recurring amount on an existing PayFast subscription token in place.
You may resume a pending cancellation before the period ends using Resume subscription on the same Billing page.
4. Refund policy
Except where required by applicable consumer-protection law (including the Consumer Protection Act, 2008, where it applies to you):
- Subscription fees already paid are non-refundable, including for partial billing periods and unused time after cancellation.
- AI credit packs are non-refundable once tokens have been credited to your account.
- We do not offer prorated refunds when you downgrade or cancel mid-cycle.
If you believe you were charged in error (for example, a duplicate charge or a charge after a confirmed cancellation), contact us at jarredbeaton@gmail.com within 14 days of the charge. We will investigate and, where appropriate, arrange a refund through PayFast.
5. Price changes
We may revise subscription pricing on at least 30 days’ notice. The new price applies from your next renewal. If you do not agree to a price change, cancel before your renewal date as described in section 3.
6. Account termination
You may request deletion of your account and data by emailing jarredbeaton@gmail.com from the address on file. Data handling on deletion follows our Privacy Policy. Deleting your account does not automatically entitle you to a refund of fees already paid.
7. Governing law
This policy is governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Western Cape, South Africa, except where mandatory consumer law provides otherwise.
